Seeking Refuge, Longing for Freedom
Pray for Refugees in Thailand — Day 1
About
Every few days, the sound of mortar fire echoes across the community, a grim reminder to its residents that just beyond the river, their neighbors are caught in active war. A singular bridge in the city offers safe passage for some Burmese to leave their country, while others must flee through dense jungle or wade across the murky river, slipping past razor wire along the border. For many refugees, the crossing is a painful reminder of the home and life they have lost. Their new surroundings are not a promised land, but the first step in an uncertain struggle for survival. They face the daily challenges of finding food, living without legal identity or language in a foreign culture, and fearing deportation back to danger. They struggle each day to survive by seeking their basic needs, and we believe that they need the freedom and hope that God offers, so they can live transformed lives.
Prayer Points for Today:
Pray for safety and protection for those fleeing conflict, whether crossing the border by Bridge, the jungle, or the River.
Pray for the provision of basic needs—food, shelter, and health—for refugees starting life in an unfamiliar land.
Pray for legal status and belonging so they may gain identity, learn the language, and integrate into the new culture without fear of deportation.
Pray for hope, healing, and freedom—that they may find peace, purpose, and the life God intends for them.
