One Collective’s Global Strategy

Rooted in the ways of Jesus & Focused on Lasting Change

If you are looking for a way to create change on a global scale - you need a unifying strategy centered on more than single-focus solutions or throwing money at problems. At One Collective, our strategy is rooted in the ways of Jesus and focused on creating change that lasts in communities around the world.

This strategy is followed by every leader at One Collective and is made up of two main elements: The Catalyst Model and the Ways of Jesus.

If you look around at non-profit work in the world today, it won’t take long for you to notice a few problems that hold change back. The first is that people aren’t great at working together. Organizations and agencies are often focused on “survival” - spending time on making sure their numbers present well or their funding doesn’t run dry - instead of working together with others who care about seeing change happen in our world. The second obvious problem is that change doesn’t last - the moment a leader departs or an organization stops running their own model - it falls apart. Projects fall into disrepair, locals aren’t equipped to keep programs running, and communities fail to experience real change.

If you’re looking to create change that lasts - you need someone who can bring everyone in the community together around a shared plan that allows them to activate strengths and take ownership of change.

At One Collective - we call that person a Catalyst.

The Catalyst Model

A Catalyst’s job is to humbly bring people in a community together around a shared vision for change. They spend time working with local leaders, government, other organizations, and global partners to break down the barriers to change in a community.

The Catalyst Model is what we call the practical, step-by-step “recipe” that Catalysts at One Collective use to create lasting change.

If the Catalyst model is the recipe - these principles from Jesus are the ingredients.

In his time here on earth, Jesus walked alongside people who society rejected, and showed us a model that focused on the whole needs of a person, brought people together, and resulted in sustainable change that grew. At One Collective, these are the ideas that shape work happening in communities around the world today.

The Ways of Jesus

Holistic

One Collective's strategy is rooted in a holistic approach inspired by Jesus' love for people.

Work in communities around the world is driven by a commitment to address the interconnected physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of others. This approach aligns with the model shown to us by Jesus, caring equally for the whole person and emphasizing empowerment.

Addressing these needs simultaneously in appropriately-sized community contexts is one of the key ingredients in the Catalyst Model.

Collaborative

One Collective's strategy is deeply collaborative - emphasizing inclusion of diverse voices, particularly those often marginalized, and recognizing their essential role in shaping a shared vision for change.

Too many stories exist that highlight the inability of organizations to truly partner with local leaders - resulting in change that ultimately fails to leave a lasting impact.

Empowering local leaders who have deep community understanding, and collaborating with experienced partners from various backgrounds are two key focuses in leadership training and day-to-day work in communities around the world.

Sustainable

One Collective’s strategy is built from the ground up with sustainability in mind. Initiatives and projects are designed to reduce financial dependence and emphasize local ownership.

As local leaders are empowered with tools that emphasize adaptation to challenges, and ownership of change from the inside out, the doors are opened for multi-generational impact. This merging of principles centered around sustainability, individual empowerment and community-wide development are represented throughout the Catalyst Model at work in communities around the world today.

This strategy isn’t theoretical. In communities around the world today, Jesus is at work. In locations where this model and these principles are being used, we see exponential growth as local leaders take ownership of change and communities are empowered to transform in new ways.

The Result: Lasting Change

With Jesus and with each other - we can create lasting change in our world today.
