What is the sister Church Association
Since half or more of Ukraine's population have fled their homes and many more have enlisted in the military, churches in Ukraine are struggling financially to maintain their ministries. The impact on tithes and offerings has been severe. The majority of churches struggle to cover basic operating expenses, let alone give their pastor a living wage. Most pastors must search for jobs to provide for their families giving them less time to minister to their flock. And the flock has become more traumatized as many victims of war have joined their communities. To help Ukrainian churches pay for things like a pastor's salary or utility bills, we've established a Sister Church Association that brings together congregations all throughout the United States and Europe. The Sister Church Association has assisted over twenty churches.
Prayer Points for Today:
Please pray that strong relationships will be created between these Sister Churches that will bring glory to Christ and His church.
Pray for the numerous Ukrainian churches that, without such support, are struggling to survive. I ask that you pray for more Western churches to join as Sister Churches.
Please pray for the hundreds, or maybe thousands, of displaced people being cared for by Ukrainian churches, in addition to their regular ministry. You can pray for them to be effective witnesses for Jesus in their words and actions.
Pray for the people in these churches that they will feel linked as the body of Christ. Ukrainian Christians ask that you pray for them as they often feel abandoned. Please pray that the Western churches' efforts to care for their Ukrainian brothers and sisters will be fruitful.
Pray that these ties will continue long after the war is over, bringing the Kingdom of Christ even closer together.
