With a seasoned in-country team, a decade of experience, and a 29-acre pineapple farm called Papagayo already in place to act as a home base, everything is ready to help expand work from Masatepe to surrounding communities in the region.

15 years ago, One Collective leaders stepping into the community of Masatepe, Nicaragua, were asking the same question. Work was just beginning then - but in the years that followed, change began to multiply across the city of 45,000 people.
The community experienced transformation from the inside out. Local leaders launched a coffee shop that became a community center, and a chicken farm was built that started feeding thousands of preschoolers daily. Dozens of Nicaraguans stepped into leadership, creating jobs and building businesses that serve their neighbors and created opportunity throughout the region.
Today, these early seeds planted in Masatepe are thriving ministries — and now there is a chance to carry that momentum into something new….

Just 15 miles away from Masatepe, another community (Ticuantepe) is ready and waiting for leaders to step in and begin the next season of transformation.
Ticuantepe is a town of 40,000 people, very similar to Masatepe — full of local changemakers working hard to impact their own community for the good of their neighbors and families. Leaders with vision already exist, but many still lack access to the opportunities and resources they need to move their ideas forward.
For years, the team in Nicaragua has dreamed about expanding One Collective’s reach to include nearby communities, and with a team of 30+ workers and over a decade of experience in-country, they are ready to support a second team laterally.
That’s why 5 years ago, One Collective made a strategic investment in a location just outside Ticuantepe that would serve as a home base for expanding work across the region — a 29 acre pineapple farm, ecolodge, and retreat center called Papagayo.
Years of investment have turned Papagayo into a space ripe for income leaders to bring this vision to life. Rustic cabins, retreat spaces, and fields already producing fruit, all spread out across a breathtaking valley nestled between the foothills of a nearby volcano.
Papagayo itself is not the answer to the challenges of the surrounding region, but it is a strategic home base — a place to live, be a neighbor, build relationships, host teams, and launch new initiatives.
The foundation has been laid and is ready to be built upon.
The only thing missing is a team who will step in to guide the next chapter of change.
