Short-Term Worker Training

Security & Logistics for your Journey

Although not the most glamorous, there are a few essential details that you must know as part of your service with One Collective. Depending on your location, there are also security guidelines that need to be understood and adhered to in order to ensure the safety and integrity of local followers of Jesus, as well as other team members, in your host community.

In this section, you’ll read through relevant portions of One Collective’s manual for team members serving on the ground, have access to some helpful travel guidelines and tips, and go over security requirements for serving in sensitive and secure locations.

In this section you will:

  • Learn important guidelines, policies, and procedures that all team members must understand and abide by
  • Be equipped to follow essential security guidelines before, during, and after your time in your host community

Communications Security Guidelines

Short-term workers headed to restricted access countries, or “secure” locations, need to be informed of essential communication protocols and the importance of security considerations in their host communities. This 5 page document will help you understand why we prioritize security, how to communicate to your donors and friends about your service opportunity, and practical steps to increase your digital security.

Once you have finished reading through this document, take some time to ponder the guidelines and suggestions made. Is there anything you need clarification on or disagree with?

Note: You must indicate whether or not you agree with One Collective’s Security Guidelines, as well as a few other essential things before you are able to leave for your host community. To do this and complete your training, visit our Acknowledgement of Terms page here.

Ministry Development Manual

This is a comprehensive HR manual for all field (Ministry Development) staff serving with One Collective, with content on how to prepare for your time of service, guidelines and policies, and helpful information about how the organization operates globally. Read sections 1, 7, and 9 in the manual.

Once you have digested this information, please acknowledge that you have read and understood the expectations of you as a short-term worker with One Collective and that you agree to abide by the organizational policies as outlined in the manual.

Please let us know if there are any sections that you need additional clarification on or have questions about. To indicate your understanding of and agreement these expectations, and complete your training, visit our Acknowledgement of Terms page here.
