Fear for Foreigners

Pray for Friends in the Far Middle East — Day 2

Why there is Fear for Foreigners

We saw “Kafrien” scrawled in child handwriting on the wall of our community center. Kafrien literally means unbeliever. However, the feelings that come with the word are more like “enemy, dangerous, and unclean.” Fear always seems to follow the word. Fear of foreigners who believe something different. “They will turn you away from Islam!” a scared local mother had tried to deter her daughter from volunteering with us.

Prayer Points for Today:

  • Pray that the love of Jesus would overcome the fear that the locals feel towards a non-Muslim.
