Church Assistance (Sister Church)
Pray for Ukriane — Day 6
About Sister Churches:
Churches throughout Ukraine are finding it difficult to maintain their ministries as half or more of their people have fled, and many more have joined the armed forces. This has had a devastating effect on the tithes and offerings. Churches are unable to pay their pastor a salary, or to maintain even the costs of running their church ministries. Most pastors in Ukraine do not even receive a salary and must work a job on the side. But jobs are not available, and with the influx of IDPs, they have little time to give to work. We have created a Sister Church Association where churches in America and Europe partner with Ukrainian churches to provide enough funds to cover the salary of a pastor, or keep the lights on at the church. We currently have sixteen Ukrainian churches being assisted in the Sister Church Association.
Prayer Points for Today:
- Pray for these churches in the Association that significant relationships can be developed on both sides that will bring glory to Christ and His church.
- Pray for the many churches throughout Ukraine that do not have such assistance and are finding it difficult to maintain. Pray that even more churches in the West might come forward to become a Sister Church.
- Pray for the people in these churches that they will feel connected as the body of Christ. Pray for the Ukrainian churches who feel alone in this world. Pray for the Western churches that they will be blessed for their sacrifice in caring for Ukrainian brothers and sisters.
- Pray for the ministries of these Ukrainian churches who not only have their everyday ministries, but are now caring for hundreds, even thousands, of IDPs. Pray that they will effectively share the love of Jesus in both word and deed.
- Pray that these associations will go beyond the war and will bring the Kingdom of Christ closer together even after the conflict comes to an end.
