Pray for the Middle East — Day 2

Home Visits

Home visits enable our team to invest deeply in relationships with refugees, walk closely with them through different facets of their lives, and witness to them by sharing stories about Jesus and God’s plan of redemption in a more personal context. Groceries, hosting gifts, and kids activities are regularly shared with families while other forms of practical and financial assistance are provided after evaluation.

Prayer Points for Today:

For the Ministry

  • That we would have wisdom and discernment as we walk with refugees through the frequency and diversity of challenges they face.

  • That there would be open hearts and effective gospel witness as we share truth and come alongside people in genuine need.

  • That visits would continue to provide a context for deep personal relationships with those we serve, and that through visits, we would get to know not just individuals, but their families, and their communities, more deeply.

For the Team

  • That we would have great compassion for those we serve and that we would simultaneously find great rest in the midst of our work.

  • That our compassion would flow from the deep well of Christ’s heart, not our own strength.

  • That we would partner well with one another (we always visit in pairs), and with the cultural insiders we work with.

  • That we would be examples of faithful ministry to short term teams, cultural insiders, and others who learn from us on visits.

  • That, as refugees share with us, we would be able to understand their lives and situations in light of God’s word, and that we would be able to communicate truth and hope in intentional, loving, and creative ways.

For those Served

  • That they would perceive our desire to help them walk in greater fullness in all areas of their life and that this would build trust and openness to the comprehensive redeeming power of the good news.

  • That those we visit would experience genuine love, care, warmth, rest, and friendship from us as they welcome and host us in their homes.
