Transportation Services (humanitarian aid)

Pray for Ukraine — Day 3

About Transportation Services:

Early on we realized we needed some vans.  Human traffickers were taking advantage of the large number of women and children who were fleeing to Europe without their husbands who were not allowed to leave Ukraine as they were needed for the army.  Traffickers were waiting over the border to offer rides to these women and children who would never be seen again.  Several churches donated a van for one of our partners to provide rides over the border directly to the contacts on the other side to avoid the traffickers.  We also needed a cargo van to bring humanitarian aid to regions of Ukraine that needed food, medicine, and building materials.  The United Methodist Committee On Relief and the International Association of Refugees provided the funds for just such a van.  Now the cargo van is being used to transport building materials for longer-term homes we are building for IDP families.

Prayer Points for Today:

  • Pray for many women and children that have already fallen victim to human traffickers that they will be found and rescued and freed from their slavery.
  • Pray for our partner’s safety as they transport women and children over the border. Pray that they arrive at their final destination safely.
  • Pray for the funds needed to provide humanitarian aid to Ukrainian communities on the front line. Pray for our driver’s safety during their travels.
  • Pray for the churches to whom we provide humanitarian aid for them to distribute. Pray that they will have opportunities to share the love of Jesus in word and deed.
  • Pray for the safety of our building crews as they transport supplies to build longer-term housing for IDPs
