Because you have financially supported one of our workers or communities, you already play a part in these stories. We’re sharing this because we want to give you a chance to see and feel how your support connects with people who are hungry to see the ways of Jesus take hold in their communities.
In the communities where we serve around the world, local leaders often run into a gap between real opportunities and the resources to act on them in time. Closing that gap, and doing it in a way that leaves the work in local hands, is the kind of thing your generosity makes possible in communities around the world today. The Visible Fund, which you'll see throughout these stories, is one of the clearest pictures of that idea.
When a team is ready and the moment is right, the Fund steps in to close gaps quickly that otherwise might take years. Once an initial gift is put to work, the team repays the amount given, and the same dollars go to work again somewhere else around the world where they are needed most. One gift becomes a business, then jobs, then a leader who has never been employed starting something of her own. The story is clear: local people doing the work, Jesus meeting them in it, and you, standing behind them so it can grow.
None of this happens without you. Your generosity, your prayers, and your trust in this work are what make it possible for us to say yes when a community is ready.
